About Me
Deciding who to work with can be an overwhelming decision. I am available to hop on a phone call to hear more about the support you are seeking and to answer any questions you may have. In addition, here is a little about me and my background:
I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in the State of New Jersey. After earning my first Masters in Teaching at Teachers College, I returned to school for a second Masters in Community Counseling at Montclair State University. From there I interned at Stepping Forward Counseling, LLC, an Intensive Outpatient program for children and adolescents.
Shortly thereafter, I moved from the classroom at Livingston High School to the In School Suspension room where I helped students with de-escalation techniques and emotional support, triaging with the other counselors in the building. In 2017, I chose to move on from the public school setting and joined LW Wellness, a family concierge service, where I worked as an organizational coach and life coach, assisting mainly college aged students with executive functioning delays and stress management. In addition, at that time I created two coaching programs: one for working moms, and another for women looking to find a relationship.
In Spring 2019, I worked as counselor at Montclair Kimberly Academy’s primary school.
In the summer of 2019, I found my home in private practice, where I can work with all of the populations she had encountered over the years. I focus my treatment on anxiety, depression, executive functioning delays (ADHD), Narcissist Abuse, borderline personality disorder, body image eating disorders, and OCD.
In 2024 I also became a Certified Eating Disorder Specilaist (CEDS) and work with women and girls with eating disorders, disordered eating and body dysmorphia. I work closely with Registered Dieticians who specialize in this field to ensure my clients recieve proper counseling and nutritional support.
With my background in teaching, I work to simplify complex techniques and theories, to help clients make tangible growth in their counseling journey. With warmth, authenticity, and personal connection, I facilitate growth and evolution, focusing on the importance of the integration of the growth mindset for optimal human learning and development.
My integrative approach pulls from various theoretical orientations including but not limited to cognitive behavior therapy (CBT), dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT), feminist theory, and solution-focused brief therapy (SFBT), and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). I learn about you first and then work with you to develope treatment techniques taylored to your needs so you can succeed. I do not believe there is one way to do this-you are coming with a unique experience as a human, it is my job to learn about you and collaborate with you so we can figure out what works for you.
